Presently, I teach Geometry and Algebra II. Geometry is a one year course designed with the intent of introducing traditional Geometric concepts through a variety of activities, which when coupled with thematic, real-life applications, allow the students to develop a greater appreciation for mathematics and its applicability within society. Algebra II is a one year course designed with the intent of preparing your child for college enrollment in physical or social sciences, engineering, and/or mathematics and a variety of other disciplines. This course is strongly recommended for all students planning to apply to highly selective academic institutions.

I believe that every person is a life-long learner and teacher. I believe that it is not only the student’s responsibility to raise them selves to a higher level of expectation, but the teacher’s responsibility to also help raise them to that level. I believe that teaching and learning is a two way street, not one way.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a minor in Philosophy and Religious studies from Regis College in Denver, Colorado. I began teaching in 1992-93 at Konawaena High School, then transferred to Hilo High School in 1995-1996, then transferred again to Kamehameha Schools in 2002-2003. Prior to that, I worked at various occupations including driving a delivery truck, doing construction jobs, and working as a math tutor while going to college.
