Course Overview

Art History, Theory and Practice is the entry-level Visual Arts course; and a requirement for graduation. In this course students will study the four core elements of art: Art-Making (studio), Art History, Aesthetics and Art Criticism.
Drawing and Painting is a studio course designed for students who like to draw, doodle, cartoon, paint, etc. Students use their creativity to draw and paint figures, portraits, landscapes, cartoons, still-life and imaginative themes.

BFA in Visual Arts, University of Northern Iowa; MS in Art Education, Indiana University; Life Experience as exhibiting artist, working graphic artist, published editorial cartoonist, published writer, recipient of National Merit Award for textbook: “Drawing and Storytelling”, published by Indiana School of Continuing Education.

Interest & Hobbies

Collecting baseball cards, Asian artifacts, old record albums, comic books and other interesting stuff. Listening to Bob Dylan songs, drawing editorial cartoons and hangin’ out in North Kohala with my wife, Linda, and dog, Reggie.
