A Sunny, Sweet Love Every Morning
“He hou mai nö i nä kakahiaka a pau. Ua nui loa nö kou ‘oia’i’o.” - His great love is new every morning. Lord, how faithful you are”. – Lamentations 3:23
In my growing up, I remember spending the summer of my second grade with my cousins in Kalihi on Oahu. We had a great time together and every day was an “adventure”. Though, we didn’t have a plan for each day (which made it fun), there was one certainty----the “Candy Man”. At noon, he would stop by with treats such as candy, ice cream, Chinese seeds and other “goodies”. Everyone knew that he was approaching soon because of the music that came from his wagon. As we all waited for him with our allowances (if, any), all of the children would run to meet him. The Candy Man was here and so, were the special treats!
Similarly, years ago, there was a popular song on the radio about a man who made delicious candy. His name was the “Candy Man”. Everything the Candy Man did made the world taste good! Even, when skies were gray and smiles were frowns, the Candy Man could whip up a delicious candy surprise and the world was a better place. But, that summer with my cousins, I soon realized that it didn’t take long before the candy was all gone. I think sweet candy and good times are very similar. Even with the best Candy Man in town, it’s just a matter of time before we run out of the “sweet stuff”.
I want to encourage someone today, that through the inspiration of scripture, God’s “sunny, sweet love” is new every morning and it’s everlasting. I don’t want you to be discouraged, but, be encouraged. You may be stumbling and falling, but, I want to let you know that God is faithful. He began a good work in you and He always finishes what He starts. Did you know that each day, His love burns bright for you and I? Through our good and bad, “sweet” and sad times, we can delight in God’s promise of a bright and better tomorrow.
Ke Akua has a high calling in your life and He walks with you by the Spirit. God wants to take you to where He wants you to go. So, if the world doesn’t treat you right, please don’t feel like your life is destined to fall apart because it doesn’t have to. Each day is a new beginning in the love of God. God is able. He will strengthen you and His grace will be sufficient. Each morning, you receive a “fresh batch of blessings” and a hug from Him.
Aloha Ke Akua,
Kahu
