Teacher and Course Information

Aloha and welcome to Kamehameha High School Hawai`i.

Kamehameha School is a dynamic and nurturing learning community committed to educational excellence. Our school exists to carry out in perpetuity the wishes of our beloved founder Ke Ali'i Bernice Pauahi Bishop-to educate children and youth of Hawaiian ancestry to become good and industrious men and women.

Each morning, we begin our day at Kamehameha High school Hawaii campus with the sound of our student oli and pule (prayer). This tradition readies our students, faculty and staff each day to seek Akua (God),`imi `ike (knowledge), to act in ways that are pono (moral and right), to display aloha (love) and laulima (to work together as a family).

We are privileged and honored to serve a significant group of Hawaiian young adults who reside on the island of Hawaii. We have hired an exceptional group of faculty who are highly skilled in the profession of teaching and learning. Our faculty is committed to the success of each child and strive to place the needs of students first.

Our high school program reflects core college prep requirements with career academy enhancements. Academies provide a broad range of information related to a specific career field. Academy curriculum is integrated throughout our high school elective courses and provides both a theoretical framework as well as opportunities for real life application.

Our students are taught to be critical thinkers and to have the ability to demonstrate knowledge in literature, math, science, social studies, Hawaiian culture, technology, visual and performing arts.

Our school emphasizes not only high academic expectations but also good character and morals. We say e komo mai(welcome)to our campus and IMUA(forward) Kamehameha!

Malama Pono…
