Write a blog post or page

Write Post = Where you post your messages. You can allow or NOT allow comments from viewers by checking the discussion section on the right. You can also add attachments. To send your post, click on publish.

Write Page = set your site to have the same page show each time rather than recent postings. Your viewers will check your category section for comments.

Manage your blog

Posts = comments that have been generated to your blog. YOU are the one who maintains the blog discussions.

Pages = Pages are like posts except they live outside of the normal blog chronology and can be hierarchical. You can use pages to organize and manage any amount of content.

Uploads show the images you have placed in your blog.

Categories are IMPORTANT. Think of these as organizational chapters in your blog. You can post your comments to different categories such as homework, class news, pictures, field trips, etc… Again, the trick is for YOU to maintain the different arenas you create. The link manager is the place where you can manage all your links to other websites, blogs, etc. You can create different categories here in which you can place links pointing to other websites or blogs. These websites or blogs can be those which you regularly visit.

Import = If you have posts or comments in another system, WordPress can import those into this blog

Export = If you want to save info from your blog, WordPress will create an
XML file for you to save to your computer. This format, which is called WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR, will contain your posts, comments, custom fields, and categories.

Comments

As the moderator of your blog site, you can determine what is appropriate by searching for key words.

Comment moderation is a feature which allows the website owner and author to monitor and control the comments on the different article posts, and can help in tackling comment spam. It lets you moderate comments, & you can delete unwanted comments, approve cool comments and make other decisions about the comments.

Resources

Blogroll = Here you add links to websites that you visit often and share them on your blog. When you have a list of links in your sidebar to other blogs, it's called a “blogroll.”

Blog Templates

Presentation = the look of your blog is controlled by KS site administrators (dakim@ksbe.edu). For the time being, we are asked to use these templates only.

Users = Under construction. If you want to use this category and need help, please email Darell Kim at dakim@ksbe.edu for assistance.

Blog Options

Options = Here you can give your weblog a personal title and tagline. You have the option of having your users be registered and logged in to comment
